Our Mission

Jeff and Andrea Busby with their stallions Blazin Jetolena, Blazin Honor, and A Blazin Dude.

Busby Quarter Horses was founded on the foundation of passion and appreciation for the quarter horse. Jeff and Andrea Busby created their program with the vision to raise and train the highest quality of horses with the athleticism and mind to excel at either end of the arena, as well as in or outside the arena. The ultimate goal with each Busby Quarter Horse foal is to steward and offer the opportunity for each individual horse to reach its full potential, whichever direction that might be, all while finding the joy in the journey.

In 2013, Jeff and Andrea were able to add Blazin Jetolena to their already well-established breeding program. Blazin Jetolena was the perfect addition adding the ideal combination of athleticism, confirmation, intelligence, speed, and cow to the program. A champion in his own right, “Jet” was the #1 ranked futurity horse in 2003 and carried Melanie Southard to the NFR in 2005.

Blazin Jetolena has since produced several NFR Qualifiers, Futurity, Derby, Slot Race, 1D, and rodeo champions in barrel racing. He is the sire of three Cheyenne Frontier Days and Pendleton Round-Up Champions and was the maternal grandsire of 2021 WPRA World Champion/Horse of the Year, Famous Lil Jet. His progeny have earned over $6.5M, and he is the #5 ranked sire of the decade. Blazin Jetolena passed in February of 2023, but his legacy will long proceed him.

Carrying the torch of Blazin Jetolena’s legacy are BQH stallions, Blazin Honor, and A Blazin Dude.  Blazin Honor is a 2008 sorrel stallion by Blazin Jetolena out of Viking Vixions Last, Power Train. He is a WPRA money earner in barrel racing and has an LTE of over $90,000 in team roping and is paid into all major barrel racing and roping stallion incentives. He was a winner in his own career and his progeny are proving just the same!

A Blazin Dude is a 2017 black stallion that was added to the Busby Quarter Horse program in 2023. He is by Blazin Jetolena out of Dashers Dude, Texas High Dasher (Rootie). Rootie has an LTE of $570,000 and is a 2X NFR Qualifier and 3X CFR Qualifier. A Blazin Dude is also a full brother to Blazin With My Dude, 2022 Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion and Mountain States Circuit Horse of the Year/Horse with the Most Heart. He will be paid into all major incentives by the year 2027.

It’s not just the stallions that get the spotlight at Busby Quarter Horses, the band of mare power they have built over the years is easily argued as the cornerstone of the program. Blazin Black Beauty, French Lady Perks, Sheza Blazin Move, and GL Famous First Lady are just a few of the proven producers in the BQH mare arsenal.

In every aspect of the breeding and performance horse business, Busby Quarter Horses intends to innovate and advocate for the industry and the horse with the goal of elevating the industry to new heights. They do this by surrounding themselves with the best trainers, veterinarians, and staff to ensure each foal that Busby Quarter Horses raises has the best opportunity to fulfill its destiny.

We are raising your future.
